据悉，有关编码5-HT6受体的基因与AD遗传学的研究目前在国内外还尚没有展开。因此，本研究对该基因中最为常见的267C/T基因多态性和AD进行了关联性分析。经验证，在进行ApoE基因分型过后，5-HT6受体基因C/T基因型显示出与非ApoEε4型AD具有正相关性，而5-HT6受体基因多态性与AD之间不存在任何相关性。目前，有部分作用于5-HT6受体的复合物已进入AD临床治疗的试验阶段，为AD的治疗带来新的希望。
